Redmond Powerline Trail

Also known as the PSE Trail, the Puget Power Trail, or just the Powerline Trail. Connects the Sammamish River Trail to Farrel-McWhirter Park. From the Sammamish River Trail, there is a steep climb over a ridge to a busy road crossing at Avondale Road (there is a crosswalk with horse-height crossing-request buttons, at least), then an easy ride to Farrel-McWhirter Park.

Directions

Since there is no specific parking area along this trail, follow the directions to get to either parking spot on the Sammamish River Trail or park at Farrel-McWhirter Park.

Current Status Notes

Open

NOTE: Pugest Sound Energy is installing a new transmission line on their utility corridor - a.k.a. the Powerline Regional Trail. This will affect the Powerline Trail between Avondale Rd NE and NE Novelty Hill Road, including the section within the Redmond Watershed. This may disrupt trail use or close parts of the trail temporarily. Be alert for construction-related trail hazards. Work is expected to be complete by October 2010.
